if you've come this far in life as to be wasting time (while you should be working!) reading my crappy blog, then you are already well acquainted with NWA and all of their retarded brilliance and incendiary politics, or lack there of. but have you heard their first, self released cassette, "NWA and the posse"? holy fuck, this shit is awesome! straight outta compton might have defined west coast gangsta rap, but this early shit is raw as fuck and, well... fun. "drink it up", an ode to all things alchoholic sung/rapped to the tune of "twist and shout" might be the greatest party song i've ever heard, on par with the best work of my personal favorite ol' dirty bastard. assemble your crew, twist off a forty cap and blast this shit, punk ass niggas!

while most rappers are still talking about bitches and money, it's good to know there's still some real revolutionary MCs out there. i saw Immortal Technique perform only once, and it was the greatest hip hop shows i've ever seen. he might have talked between songs more than he even rapped but for some reason it was okay because everything the dude says is so fucking righteous. the highlight was probably when he went on a tirade against the record labels. he was talking about downloading music and said (paraphrasing from a spotty memory) "i know we're all broke, if you can afford to buy my new album, get that shit, but if not, go ahead and download that shit off the internet! but do me a favor, don't just sit there in yer crib, listening to that shit while you play playstation, put your speakers in the window and blast that shit for your racist fucking neighbors!" uhm.. fuck yeah! so, in that spirit, here's immortal tech's latest, the 3rd world, a collaboration with dj green lantern. word.
